Richard resting on top of the biggest hill we climbed.
Mr Jaques

On Easter Sunday we started from our cabin which is behind the main range in this picture. We climbed up the range, then along it towards the camera and then down the spur which heads off to the left, into the valley and a pub for lunch.

From there we headed further left and then started a tough climb up to the point of the photo, through first sheep fields and then progressively sparser srhubbery terrain and finally outcroppings of rock. The top was about 900 metres from our start.

On the way back we headed along a ridge to the right of the photo which curved slowly to the left; at a saddle we dropped down into the valley again, had a pint at another pub (where we also found some of our hikers who had declined the mountain climb) and then we finished off by going around the second hill you can see in the photo which is cut off on the right hand side, and so back to the cabin. Not a bad walk!
