The first day of the trip. I actually started from my house in Islington but this has more of an 'official' look about it.

This is my hybrid bike, all loaded up and ready to go. Hybrid bikes aren't really the best idea for a trans-continental trip, but as I responded when questioned about why I'm taking it "that's the one I've got".

<br/><br>It's been considerably improved from its humble beginnings, with new wheels, tyres, chain, casette, racks, mudguards, panniers, bar ends, kickstand, all of which almost justifies buying a proper tour bike in the first place.
