I was heading down a beautiful part of the west coast of France, threading through forests and occasionally popping out onto a huge beach which reminded me of Ocean Grove back home when I met two cycle tourists coming the other way. Chatting for a while, they asked where I was heading. 'Athens'. Pause. 'But, are you...  read more

Through the beautiful Gorge Du Tarn, a spot of Kayaking then struggling through the traffic of France's second biggest city... Breezing through Brittany

654km, London - La Rochelle After two days' cycling I rolled into Portsmouth, and I finally got to go see the Victory. Always amusing

Getting cocky keeping my camera in the open on my kayak let me get shots like this
Gorge Du Tarn

This is a really good sign to see.
Good signs

With the 'Bordeaux Mirror' reflecting it nicely. Trying to get the shot with no cars in it is pretty much impossible though.
Bordeaux Palace

Look our for those sand drifts... poor racks were bounced all over the place.
Beach track

La Rochelle

Think I'm being a wuss? You try going over it with a 40 kilo bike.
The bridge at St.Nazaire

It didn't really rain that much though. This is in the marshlands north of St.Nazaire
Wet weather rig

Made it across Brittany

The locals built a wall just offshore which is covered at high tide but gives a nice swimming pool at low tide. Neat.
St.Malo

For Paul M
Danger - Snake Plissken crossing
