At long last, we get on our ferry and it gets under way... on the other side of the sea is Tartary!

OK, so you can't actually see much from the picture. But this is the furthest recorded evidence of Roman presence in Asia. I can imagine the Centurion looking out over the vastness of the Caspian Sea, thinking... ah, bugger it, that's far enough.
